  Lifeisnotalwaysfullofsmilesandflowers.Soitisveryimportanttohaveacorrectattitudetofaceupthedifficulties.
  Twoyearsago,whenIwasbusyforpreparingtheSATandTOFEL,myteacheraskedmetotakepartinadanceteaminschoolcompetitions.HetoldmethattheextracurricularactivitiescouldalsogiveyouthebenefitontheapplicationoftheU.S.universities.ButIthoughtIwasnotgoodatdancingandIneedspendalotoftimeonEnglishlearning,soIdidnotwanttoparticipatethedanceteam.Unabletowithstandtheteacher’spersuading,finallyIjoinedthedanceteamandbegantolearnthedance.Fortunately,thedanceteacherwasveryresponsible,andtaughtthestudentscarefully.AlthoughIdidnothavemuchbaseondancing,Ilearnedquicklyundertheteacher"sguide.Atthattime,becauseofthebusystudyonEnglish,Itookthedanceasmyonlyentertainment,soIlearnedthedanceveryseriously,sometimesIstayedindanceroomforadditionaltraining.Afteraperiodofcarefulpractice,IfoundthedancewasnotdifficultasIthought,Ibegantodoubtmyjudgmentonmydancing.MaybeIwasgoodatdancingbutIwasshyinpublicanddidnothaveatry.Withincreasingofmyconfidence,Iworkedhardandperformedwell.Thedanceteachertookmeastheleadingdancerintheteam.Ifeltveryhappy,butontheothersideIhavetheresponsibilitytoleadtheteammembersdancingwell.Fortunately,inthefinalschoolcompetition,wewonthesecondwhichwasthebestrewardfordancinginourclass.Myteacherwasveryhappyandinvitedustodinner,hetoldtomethatdifficultieswasnotterrible,thereallyterriblethingwasgivingupwithouttrying.
  Iagreewiththeteacher"sviewverymuch,afterthisdancingactivity,Ifoundthattherightwaytofaceupdifficultiesistobeconfidentandbrave,Confrontdifficultieswithconfident,andyouwillfindthedifficultiesarenotashardasyouthought.Trytosolvethedifficultieswithbraveandworkhard,thedifficultieswilldisappearandyouwillachievesuccessfinally.IfIwasluckilyselectedbyPennStateUniversity,Iwilldomanyattemptsinthecollege,notjusthardstudy.Iwillexploreandexercisemyabilitybyparticipatinginextracurricularactivities,associations,commercialcompaniesinternshipsandsoon.

  两年前,当我正忙着准备SAT和TOFEL考试,我的老师叫我参加一个舞蹈队在学校比赛。他告诉我,课外活动也可以给你在美国的大学生活带来好处。但我觉得自己不擅长跳舞,而且需要花很多时间学习英语,所以我不太想参加舞蹈队。经不住老师的劝说,最后我还是参加了舞蹈队,并开始学习舞蹈。幸运的是,舞蹈老师很负责很认真的教学生。虽然我没有很多舞蹈基础,但是在老师的指导下学得很快。同时,由于忙于学习英语,我把舞蹈作为我唯一的娱乐,这样我学起来很认真,甚至我有时候留在舞蹈室进行额外的练习。经过一段时间的认真学习,我发现舞蹈其实并不困难,我开始怀疑我对自己不擅长舞蹈的判断。说不定我是一个跳舞高手,但害羞的我又不敢在公共场所试一试。随着我努力练习,我的舞跳得越来越好,信心也增强了。舞蹈老师要求我作为领舞者,站在队伍的前面。我特别高兴,但又感觉责任重大,我必须带领团队成员也把舞跳好。幸运的是,在最后的学校比赛中,我们赢得了全校第二名。这是我们班在跳舞比赛中取得的最好成绩。我的老师很高兴,请我们吃饭,他告诉我说,困难并不可怕,真正可怕的是不尝试就放弃了。
  我认为老师说的非常有道理,经过这次舞蹈大赛,我发现正确面对困难的方式是要自信和勇敢。只要自信一点,你会发现困难并没有想象的那么难。尝试解决困难,勇敢和努力去面对,困难就会消失,你会取得最终的成功。如果我幸运的被宾夕法尼亚州立大学的录取,我想我会做很多方面的尝试。不仅要努力学习,而且我将积极参与课外活动,社团,商业公司实习等,锻炼提高自己的能力。
